A debate competition in Parliament for new debaters!

A couple of weeks ago Impart hosted a debating competition in Parliament for four schools who were brand new to debating this year. The school’s MP Julia Lopez came along to judge the debate and speak to the students about working in politics, and her staff then gave the students and Impart coaches and incredible tour of the Houses of Parliament - even getting to go inside the House of Commons and Lords debating chambers.

Despite being new to debating, the students gave incredible speeches on the topics of banning smart phones in schools and tackling crime in London. Impart is going to continue coaching these schools and hopes to see many at future competitions!
