Impart’s story is the story of a student given an opportunity…

According to a recent Sutton Trust study, over 50% of private schools have a debate society, compared to less than 20% of state-funded schools.

Our Founder, Francesca Reynolds, was one of those at a state-school that didn’t have a debating society and only had one politics lesson during her entire secondary education. However, she was given the opportunity to debate with a local private school which changed the course of her life. She was provided with opportunities that boosted her aspirations, taught her about the world, and met a network of people who would support her career decades later. Unfortunately, most state-funded schools can’t provide their students with the same kinds of opportunities

Impart was founded to provide those opportunities for students just like Francesca, who care about the world and want to know more, but don’t currently have the chance to do so.

Impart was so every student could have this kind of life-changing opportunity.

What does Impart do?

We provide politics and debating resources to state-funded schools across the UK, supporting schools to establish, run and expand debating societies as well as facilitating their attendance at external debate competitions.

We never charge our schools for our resources or support because we want all students to have these opportunities regardless of their school’s ability to pay.
